A thrown stoneware rustic bowl with a hand coiled rim and matching foot. A thin wash of clear glaze has been applied to the interior which creates a slight reflective surface. The remaining parts of the piece remain matt in appearance. The rim has a 12cms band of black on the rim with a contrasting flash of red glaze which has been fired onto the piece at a lower temperature. The asymmetry of the pot is typical of Robin's Wabi Sabi approach to his work. A maker's mark RW has been impressed into the footring of the bowl on the outside.
