A cream jug.  This piece dates to the late 1960s / early 1970s. It has been finely potted using a stoneware clay. Throwing ribs are left throughout the jug which adds to the simple decorative qualities of this piece. A thin wash of iron  oxide has been banded on the middle part of the jug. The lower half has been dipped in a slightly metalic tenmoku glaze. An impressed maker's mark can be found near the base  just below the handle. There has been considerable interest in early pieces made by Mary during the last two years. The dilema is do you risk using  it or enjoy displaying it?

Postage is FREE within the UK only. Please contact the gallery direct for all other destinations. Additional pieces made by Mary are often in storage but may not feature on our web site. You are welcome to contact us.
