A fabulous barium carbonate blue porcelain vase. This piece breaks to a slightly deeper blue on the inside of the neck and on the top third of the piece just below the neck. Barium blue glazes are created by the addition of lithium and copper carbonate in the glaze recipe. The result is an electric blue that makes a visual statement to the aesthetics of any room! This piece is impressed with the maker's mark DC near the base. Delan won a Churchill Fellowship in 1966 and a Gold Medal at Vallauris International Exhibition in 1974.
