A pre -1964 earthenware strap handled bottle. This piece is decorated with an iron pigment which has been used to apply banding and brushwork motifs. The transparent honey glaze has a very fine mess of crazing which probably dates close to the date of making but does not distract in any way in terms of quality. The pot is un-glazed for 3cms from the base which allows the fired clay to become an integral part of the decorative banding. A makers mark is impressed into the clay near the base and is in line with the strap handle. Postage is free within the UK but not for International destinations.
