This piece is a classic Clarkson high fired bottle made from a pale stoneware clay body. It is stamped with an impressed makers mark DC just above the outside base of the pot. The decoration was applied using various brush sizes directly on top of the dipped glaze (and before the final firing). There was consequently no room for error. The mark making is precise and very confidently positioned. We have sold work by Derek since 1989 including holding various group shows and a two man show of his work with the late Derek Emms in 1990. Derek Clarkson died in 2013. His work is held in high esteem and is represented in the Victoria and Albert collection of studio ceramics, London. Postage is free within the UK only.
